Configuring a POP email account in G-Mail series
- First of all configure Outlook to create POP E-mail account. Click on “Gmail Settings”
- and select “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”.
- Now start Outlook, go to Tools -> Email Accounts.
- Then on the Outlook popup window, select “Add a new e-mail account” and click on Next.
- Then select”POP3” as account type, then click on Next.
- Now On the User Information section, enter your name and Gmail address.
- On the Server Information section, enter the Google Gmail servers i.e. enter the incoming and outgoing mail server details.
- On the Logon Information section, enter your Gmail User Name, same as your G-mail address and your Gmail password.
- Next enable the option “My outgoing mail server requires authentication” from the Outgoing Server tab.
- Last, click on OK to return to the Outlook Gmail account window.
Configuring a POP email account with SSL in G-Mail series

- Next enable the option “My outgoing mail server requires authentication” from the Outgoing Server tab.
- Last, click on OK to return to the Outlook Gmail account window.

- First of all configure Outlook to create IMAP E-mail account. Click on “Gmail Settings”
- and select “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”.
- Now start Outlook, go to Tools -> Email Accounts.
- Then on the Outlook popup window, select “Add a new e-mail account” and click on Next.
- Then select”IMAP” as account type, then click on Next.

Configuring custom ports in G-Mail series
Open Mail, choose “preferences”, select Accounts, then Outgoing Mail Server list, and select Edit Server List. Select your Gmail account, and then click the “Advanced tab“type port no. to 587 in outgoing mail server and then Close “preferences”.
How to setup your email signature in G-Mail series
To set up a signature automatically at the end of your emails which you compose in Gmail, first Click the Settings in your Gmail toolbar. Select Settings from the menu. Then move to General tab. Make sure the desired account is selected under Signature and then type your signature in the text field. Don’t include the signature delimiter as Gmail inserts it automatically. Click Save Changes. Gmail will now insert the signature automatically when you compose a message.
How to change your email password in G-Mail series
To change the password, select Settings from the menu. Then go to the Accounts (or Accounts and Import) category. Choose the Change password link under Change account settings. Type your current password under Current password. Enter the new password under New password box and again enter the same password in Confirm new password box to confirm it and last click Save.
How to delete an email account in G-Mail series
To delete the mail account, first log in to your Gmail account. Now click “Account” to open your account details. Click the “Close entire account and delete all services and info associated with it “under the “Services” section. Then warning appears on the screen “Before you can delete your Google account, you must confirm your intention to do so, by checking off each and every service you will lose should you close your account, which Google has quite thoroughly documented.” Last, to close your account. Enter your e-mail password and then check the boxes to confirm you want to delete your account. And click Delete Google Account.
