Configuring a POP email account in Apple mail :-
- To configure POP email account,
- first choose Add Account from the File menu.
- Fill in the Full Name, Email address, and Password fields. Click Continue to proceed.
- Choose the “POP” as Account Type.
- Type a description for your mail server and enter your Incoming Mail Server provided by your host, User Name and Password.
- Click continues.
- Enter the Outgoing Mail Server details i.e.description, outgoing mail server in the given space.
- Click Continue to proceed.
- Verify your settings in the Account Summary.
- Check “Take account online”.
- Click “Create” to complete the process.
Configuring a POP email account with SSL in Apple mail :-
- To configure POP email account,
- first choose Add Account from the File menu.
- Fill in the Full Name, Email address, and Password fields.
- Click Continue to proceed.
- Choose the “POP” as Account Type.
- Type a description for your mail server and enter your Incoming Mail Server provided by your host, User Name and Password.
- Click Continue.
- Now in the Incoming mail security window, select the checkbox “Use secure sockets layer (SSL)” and set Authentication to password.
- Click continues.
- Enter the Outgoing Mail Server details i.e.description, outgoing mail server in the given space.
- Now in the Incoming mail security window, select the checkbox “Use secure sockets layer (SSL)” and set Authentication to password.
- Click Continue to proceed.

- If necessary, select “Use Authentication” and enter your User Name and Password.
- Click Continue to proceed. Verify your settings in the Account Summary.
- Check “Take account online”. Click “Create” to complete the process.

How to setup your email signature in Apple mail :-
- Click the Mail menu then select Preferences.
- In the pop-up window, select Accounts and then select Signatures tab.
- Select the email account on the left,
- click the + button to add a new signature and assign a name to it,
- and then enter your signature in the section on the right.
- If you want to assign an existing signature, select the email account from the section on the left,
- and then choose the signature from the Choose Signature field.
How to change your email password in Apple mail :-
- Click the Mail menu then select Preferences.
- In the pop-up window, select Accounts ,choose the email account for which you want to change the password and then
- click the Account Information tab.
- Enter your new login details in the User Name and Password field.
- Your password has been updated.
How to delete an email account in Apple mail :-
- Click the Mail menu then select Preferences.
- In the pop-up window, select Accounts, choose the email account which you want to delete and click on minus icon.
- A pop up box is displayed, asking for the confirmation,
- click”Remove” button and your account is deleted.
Configuring custom ports in Apple mail :-
- Click the Mail menu then select Preferences.
- In the pop-up window, select Accounts ,choose the email account for which you want to change the port no. and then
- click the Account Information tab under Outgoing mail server, select “Edit SMTP server list” from the drop down menu.
- Click the outgoing mail server used for this account and then
- click the advanced tab. set “Use custom port “as 465,”Use SSL” to checked, set Authentication to password and click OK.
- Click the Mailbox Behaviors tab.
- Select the checkbox “Store draft messages on the server”, “Store sent messages on the server:”
- “Move deleted messages to the Trash mailbox”,”
- Store deleted messages on the server” and unselect the checkbox” Store junk messages on the server”.
- Click the Advanced tab and select the checkbox”Include when automatically checking for new mail”.
- Set Port: 993 select the checkbox “Use SSL”and set Authentication to Password.
- Click Junk Mail in the toolbar.
- If prompted to save your changes, click Save.
- Uncheck the Enable Junk Mail Filtering setting.
- Close the Preferences window.
- Mail will now check for email on the new port.
